Industrial roller bearing

Bearing Material, Precision Class and Seals: RFQ Checklist for Industrial Buyers

A complete bearing RFQ should state more than the basic designation. Material, precision, seal type, lubrication and environment can materially change service life and suitability.

Information to confirm

  • Bearing type and full designation, including clearance and seal suffixes
  • Required material or corrosion-resistance needs
  • Precision class and runout requirements
  • Open, shielded or sealed construction and the expected contamination level
  • Lubricant, temperature range, speed and relubrication requirements
  • Quantity, packaging, target market and any inspection documentation needed

How to narrow the specification

Start from the actual duty point, not the equipment name alone. Check the driven load, transmission losses, operating environment and installation constraints together. Keep the nameplate requirements, mounting dimensions and local electrical supply in the enquiry so the recommended configuration can be checked before order.

Request a technical quotation

Use the bearing collection to identify the bearing family, then send the full designation and application details. This reduces the risk of ordering a visually similar but technically unsuitable bearing.

For a preliminary recommendation, submit the operating conditions and any drawing or nameplate photo. Final selection must be confirmed against the complete application.
